The content of the Multimedia Procedure Manual has been carefully prepared by physicians, from a wide range of specialities, who have expertise in the performance of the medical procedures covered. The content herein is compiled from primary sources in the medical literature (both peer-reviewed journals and standard medical textbooks) as well as from the personal experiences of the authors.

The Multimedia Procedure Manual is intended to be an ancillary resource for the student or physician wishing to become competent in the perfomance of medical procedures. The Manual is not, under any circumstances, a substitute for personal instruction provided by an experienced physician. No medical procedure should be performed by an individual without having such instruction beforehand. Furthermore, the content of this Manual is intended for use only by qualified medical professionals or students under direct supervision.

Preferred techniques and equipment may be different at other hospitals or clinics, and it is the user's responsibility to be aware of such variations.
